DAY 1
When Sunday 17th June came, we felt so overwhelmingly excited that our 12-hours journey seemed to be not tiring at all. Nonetheless, as soon as we took off, we deeply fell asleep in a warm, vivid sunset on the edge of the world. Perhaps, at first we got surprised as the sun didn't want to set and was dazzling even at 11 p.m. But, when we got to Dublin Airport , we were completely freezing as we experienced a rapid change of weather.

Non appena giunse il 17 giugno, giorno della partenza, tutti ci sentivamo così estremamente emozionati che le 12 interminabili ore di viaggio, non sembrarono per niente stancanti. Nonostante ciò, una volta decollati, ci siamo addormentati profondamente in un caldo e brillante tramonto sul tetto del mondo. Probabilmente, all'inizio fummo sorpresi dal fatto che il sole non volesse tramontare e continuava a risplendere perfino alle 23. Ma, quando arrivammo all'areoporto di Dublino, venimmo avvolti da un gelido abbraccio.

DAY 2
On Monday, June 18th, our second day in Dublin, the company tutor illustrated the general features of this project, particularly about discipline and health on workplace.
In the afternoon we had our first tour at the city centre where we saw the Spire, a kind of pointed column 120 metres high. Furthermore we gazed at the historical seat of the Irish Post Offices. On the façade of the building some bullets holes can be seen. They date back to 1916, year of the Irish Revolution against English domination.
After our first sightseeing, Dublin seems to be a quiet city, the ideal for a group of students looking forward to learning something new about English, about work and about world.
Lunedì 18 giugno, il nostro secondo giorno a Dublino, il tutor della compagnia ha illustrato le caratteristiche generali del progetto con particolare riguardo alla disciplina e alla salute sul posto di lavoro.
Nel pomeriggio abbiamo svolto la prima visita nel centro città dove abbiamo osservato il monumento chiamato "The Spire".
Inoltre ci siamo recati di fronte alla sede storica degli uffici postali irlandesi. Sulla facciata dell'edificio è possibile notare alcuni fori di proiettile risalenti al 1916, anno della rivoluzione irlandese contro il dominio britannico.
Dopo la nostra prima gita Dublino sembra essere una città tranquilla, l'ideale per degli studenti che vogliono saperne di più di inglese, di lavoro e del mondo.

DAY 3
At the strike of the seven o'clock we were awaken again, another day was expecting us starting with the usual breakfast at DCU. After an intense day with our company tutor we were already setting up a walk to reach the National Botanic Gardens, of 15 hectares long. A three-hour tour let us see the great vastness of flora and fauna that was in the Gardens and also to walk around the green to research some monuments to photograph, despite the rain. Therefore, an itinerary with the sweet company of squirrels took us to the conclusion of the day.
Allo scoccare delle 7 in punto eravamo di nuovo svegli, un'altra giornata ci attendeva a partire dalla tipica colazione alla DCU, dopo un'intensa lezione con l'abituale professore ci prepariamo ad una passeggiata per raggiungere i National Botanic Gardens, della grandezza di 15 ettari. Una visita di 3 ore ci permette di osservare da vicino la vastità di flora e fauna presenti al suo interno e di camminare tra il verde alla ricerca di monumenti da fotografare nonostante la pioggia. Insomma un percorso accompagnati dai simpatici scoiattoli che ci porta alla conclusione della giornata.

DAY 4
On the fourth day, in the morning, our company tutor made us reflect about social media and how they changed our lives. In the afternoon, we remained at the university, where our company tutor gave us useful information about preparation and presentation of CV and about how to face a job interview in various situations.
In the evening shopping in Dublin City Center with a wonderful view of the sunset that reminded us the beautiful day we had.
Il quarto giorno, in mattinata, il nostro tutor aziendale ci ha fatto riflettere sui social media e su come essi hanno cambiato le nostre vite. Nel pomeriggio, siamo rimasti all’università, dove il nostro tutor aziendale ci ha dato utili informazioni sulla preparazione e presentazione di un CV e su come affrontare un colloquio di lavoro in varie situazioni. In serata shopping al centro di Dublino con una vista mozzafiato del tramonto che ci ha ricordato il magnifico giorno passato insieme.

DAY 5
On Thrusday, June 21st, the company tutor illustrated problems about jobs and occupations. We talked about the different kinds of job and every aspect of them.
After lunch, we caught the bus, and we visited the National Gallery of Ireland, which is full of works of art such as paintings, drawings and sculptures.
Among the paintings the "Argenteuil Basin with a Single Sailboat" by Claude Monet and "Still life with a Mandolin" by Pablo Picasso stood out. We personally liked a small part of the gallery where there were lots of portraits of famous Irish people.
After the visit, we went to a park near the museum where there was the statue of Oscar Wilde, the famous Irish playwright who wrote a great deal of aphorisms still popular today.
At the end of the day, we found out another special side of this wonderful city.
Giovedì 21 Giugno, il tutor aziendale ci ha illustrato i problemi riguardanti il lavoro e le occupazioni. Abbiamo parlato dei vari tipi di lavoro e ogni aspetto di essi.
Dopo pranzo abbiamo preso il bus e abbiamo visitato la "National Gallert of Ireland" la quale era colma di arte, ovvero dipinti, disegni e sculture. Tra i dipinti spiccavano "Il Bacino di Argenteuil con una Barca" di Claude Monet e "Natura morta con Mandolino" di Pablo Picasso. Abbiamo inoltre apprezzato una piccola parte della galleria dove vi erano molti ritratti di persone famose irlandesi. Dopo la visita siamo andati in un parco vicino al museo dove vi è la statua di Oscar Wilde, il famoso drammaturgo e romanziere irlandese il quale ha scritto numerosi aforismi ancora oggi molto popolari.
Alla fine della giornata, abbiamo scoperto un altro lato di questa fantastica città.
This morning, in the sparkling air of Dublin, we met our company tutor and, under his supervision, we undertook some debates, writing also our point of view about some topics (e.g. job uniforms, smoking in public places).
After lunch, we went to the chain hotel Travelodge near our accomodation; there the hotel manager illustrated to us how to manage a hotel and what criteria is used to assign a price to the rooms; we have also discovered that there is a software which processes the data concerning reservation, prices and also the level of costumers satisfaction.
In the evening the shiny sun enlightened groups of young students who were enjoying an unusual warm day in the DCU park. As well as most of them, we spent our time sunbathing and playing with the ball, getting good vibes and positive energy from the warm embrace of nature.
Questa mattina, nella frizzante aria di Dublino, abbiamo incontrato il nostro tutor, e abbiamo avuto dei dibattiti, scrivendo inoltre il nostro punto di vista su alcuni argomenti (ad esempio le uniformi da lavoro, fumare in luoghi pubblici).
Dopo pranzo, siamo andati all'hotel della catena Travelodge situato vicino ai nostri alloggi; lì il direttore ci ha spiegato come gestire un albergo e il criterio usato per stabilire i prezzi delle stanze; abbiamo anche scoperto dell'esistenza un software che elabora i dati riguardanti prenotazioni, prezzi e livello di gradimento dei clienti.
Durante la sera, il sole brillante illuminava gruppi di giovani studenti che stavano approfittando di un'insolita giornata calda nel parco della DCU. Così come la maggior parte di loro, abbiamo preso il sole e abbiamo giocato con il pallone, ricaricandoci di energia positiva con il caldo abbraccio della natura circostante.

DAY 7
On Saturday we went to our first trip in Dun Laoghaire, a suburban coastal town. As soon as we got there by the train, we had the chance of admiring some spectacular landscapes. During our trip,
we saw a cannon at the East Pier and then we took some photos all together.
Afterwards, we walked along the pier until we reached the lighthouse, where we had our packed lunch. To spend some more free time, we decided to have a quick ride in the shopping center. In the afternoon we went to Bray, where we strolled along the seafront. Thus, we hiked in a hill following our group leaders. However, although we didn’t get to the top, we were able to stare at the sea. Despite being exhausted, at the end of the day, we felt so satisfied that we continued to have some fun in the evening.
Prima di ripartire, poiché avevamo un po’ di tempo libero, abbiamo deciso di girare velocemente per i negozi fino a che, nel primo pomeriggio ci siamo recati a Bray. Qui, dopo aver camminato per il lungomare, abbiamo fatto un’escursione su una collina seguendo le nostre guide. Sebbene non abbiamo raggiunto la cima, abbiamo potuto ammirare il mare e la sua immensità. Alla fine della giornata, malgrado fossimo esausti, avevamo ancora energia per divertirci anche la sera.

DAY 8
After a very busy week, Sunday finally came and we spent such a great day in Dublin. After our usual breakfast, indeed, we went to the city centre and we visited St. Patrick Cathedral. Afterwards, we had the chance of having lunch in a traditional Irish pub, where we ate superb dishes. In the afternoon, we walked around the cities doing some shopping and appreciating the brightness of an Irish city during a sunny day. As a day-off, we really chilled and enjoyed both the astonishing views and the magic atmosphere of the Irish buildings. Perhaps, the most positive aspect of the whole day was the weather, since it was warm enough to enjoy our shopping.
Once we got back to the DCU, we spent a couple of hours in the park, relaxing or playing football. Therefore, our first Sunday in Dublin was even better that what we had expected!
Dopo una settimana molto impegnativa, è finalmente giunta la domenica e abbiamo passato davvero una bella giornata a Dublino. Dopo la nostra quotidiana colazione, infatti, siamo andati nel centro della città e abbiamo visitato la cattedrale di San Patrizio. In seguito, abbiamo avuto la possibilità di pranzare in un tradizionale pub irlandese, dove abbiamo mangiato piatti superbi. Nel pomeriggio abbiamo camminato attraverso la città facendo un po' di shopping e apprezzando la luminosità di una città irlandese durante un giorno di sole. Come giorno di pausa, ci siamo davvero rilassati e abbiamo goduto sia del sorprendente panorama sia della magica atmosfera dei palazzi irlandesi. Forse, l'aspetto più positivo dell'intera giornata è stato il tempo, dal momento in cui faceva abbastanza caldo da potersi godere lo shopping. Una volta tornati alla DCU, abbiamo passato un paio d'ore al parco, rilassandoci o giocando a calcio. Pertanto la nostra prima domenica a Dublino è stata persino migliore di quanto ci aspettassimo!
DAY 9
As soon as the second week began, we started our work placement for an Italian organisation: "Flavour of Italy". At first, our expectations were pretty high as we were almost scared of what our duties would have been. Then, however, we immediately understood the familiarity and tenuity of the staff and our supervisor and we have been immersed in a positive environment. After we had our lunch at DCU, we participated in a business class with our new supervisor Willie. There, we were asked to prepare a presentation of our product just like we were actually working for "Flavour of Italy".
Nonetheless, we had also time to chill. In point of fact we went to the city centre in the evening and we enjoyed the magic atmosphere of a sunset in Dublin. Perhaps, we will never forget how vivid the colours were and their reflection on the river Liffey. Overall it was a good day, but there's no doubt that the best moment was when we ate donuts!
Con l’inizio della seconda settimana ha avuto inizio anche la nostra esperienza lavorativa presso una compagnia italiana “Flavour of Italy”. Inizialmente le nostre aspettative erano piuttosto basse poiché eravamo quasi spaventati per cosa avremmo dovuto fare. In seguito comunque, siamo immediatamente stati coinvolti dalla familiarità e dalla genuinità dello staff e del nostro supervisore siamo stati immersi in un ambiente positivo. Dopo il pranzo alla DCU, abbiamo partecipato ad una lezione di economia con il nostro nuovo supervisore Willie, durante la quale ci è stato chiesto di preparare una presentazione dei nostri prodotti proprio come se stessimo lavorando per davvero nella compagnia “Flavour of Italy”.
Nonostante ciò, abbiamo trovato comunque il tempo per rilassarci. Infatti la sera siamo andati nel centro della città e abbiamo goduto della magica atmosfera del tramonto dublinese. Forse, non dimenticheremo mai i colori vividi di quest’ultimo e i loro riflessi sul fiume Liffey. Alla fine abbiamo passato una bella giornata, ma non c’è dubbio che il momento più bello è stato quando abbiamo mangiato le ciambelle!

DAY 10
This has been our second day of work at the company known as Flavour of Italy. After an hour ride we got to the workplace and formed three groups so as to face the task we had. This time we had to work out a way to improve the business of the company by using the social networks above all. Next we made a comparison between Flavour of Italy and Food & Delicious, a successful food business in Italy, highlighting pros and cons of each.
Furthermore the tutor invited us to create a new activity for their business in order to attract as many customers as possible. For example, my group and I had the idea to create a pastry section. Having done that, we spent the rest of the evening chilling in DCU park.
Questo e' stato il nostro secondo giorno di lavoro presso la compagnia " Flavour of Italy".
Dopo un' ora di corsa sul bus siamo arrivati sul posto di lavoro e abbiamo formato tre gruppi per affrontare il compito che ci spettava. Questa volta abbiamo dovuto escogitare un modo per migliorare gli affari dell' intera compagnia. Il supervisore ci ha invitati a creare una nuova attivita' per l' impresa per attrarre quanti piu' clienti possibile. Per esempio, il mio gruppo ed io abbiamo avuto l'idea di presentare una sezione di pasticceria.
In seguito, abbiamo fatto un paragone tra Flavour of Italy e Food & Delicious, un'altra impresa italiana basata sul cibo, evidenziando i punti di forza e di debolezza di ciascuno.

Day 11
On Wednesday our day started with the bus travel to our work placement. After 40 minutes, we arrived and we started reading our reports that we had written the day before and lately we began to work on our power point presentations. We started to prepare three presentations about a new brand for Flavour of Italy.
Afterwords we took the bus and we went back to DCU to have lunch. In the afternoon we have had a lesson with Willie - our company tutor since monday - about marketing phylosophy and email writing.

DAY 12
Our job experience was going on. We stayed at the work placement all day long to prepare our own brands regarding "Flavour of Italy". During the morning the company manager spent some time with us, sharing his work experience and giving us useful life teachings. Then the three groups continued their presentation, each of them proposing their own ideas: the first group organised a contest; the second one promoted a way to spread Italian sweets in Ireland through a bakery company; the last one focused on a project involving the opening of various stand stalls in Dublin, in order to sell different Italian specialities. At the end of the working hours our tasks were completed and we were ready for the presentation planned for the following day. Here there are the presentations:Prima Presentazione

La nostra esperienza di lavoro sta continuando.
Siamo stati tutto il giorno a preparare i nostri Power Point per "Flavour of Italy". Durante la mattinata il manager aziendale è venuto a trovarci, facendo un discorso che oltre a spiegare la sua esperienza lavorativa, ci ha fornito anche utili insegnamenti di vita. In seguito i tre gruppi hanno continuato a lavorare alla presentazione dei loro progetti: il primo gruppo ha organizzato un contest, il secondo ha cercato di promuovere un modo per diffondere la tradizione sui dolci italiani in Irlanda attraverso una compagnia di pasticcerie; l'ultimo ha realizzato un progetto che presentava l'apertura a Dublino di vari chioschi al fine di diffondere la cultura culinaria italiana. Alla fine della giornata di lavoro i nostri progetti erano terminati e pronti per la presentazione prevista il giorno successivo.

DAY 13
On Friday we were finally ready for the presentation of our projects. Each group presented their idea in front of our supervisor, the vice administrator and the director of the cookery school. They appreciated our works, and gave us some advice about how to improve and develop what we have realized. In the afternoon, a DCU guide took us to the most important stadium of Ireland, Croke Park.
We visited the museum and we learned about the history and the traditions of the most popular sports of Irish culture, Gaelic football and Hurling. At the end of the visit we reached the stadium stands and we took photos with a replica of the winners cup. Another day ended, this time on the top of the stadium, with a wonderful view.
Venerdì eravamo finalmente pronti per presentare i nostri progetti. Ogni gruppo ha presentato la propria idea dinanzi al nostro supervisore, al vice direttore e al responsabile della scuola di cucina. Hanno molto apprezzato i nostri lavori e ci hanno dato dei consigli su come migliorare e dare vita a ciò che avevamo realizzato. Nel pomeriggio, una guida della DCU ci ha portato nello stadio più importante d'Irlanda, Croke Park. Abbiamo visitato il museo e abbiamo conosciuto un'altra bloody sunday diversa da quella cantata dagli U2 avvennuta nel 1920 proprio nello stadio.ė stato bello conoscere le tradizioni degli sport più popolari della cultura Irlandese, il Gaelic football e l'Hurling e la passione con cui giocano pur non essendo giocatori professionisti. Alla fine della visita abbiamo raggiunto gli spalti e abbiamo scattato delle foto con la riproduzione del trofeo della finale di hurling. DAY 14
With this Saturday we have started our last weekend as Dubliners and for this reason we wanted to take advantage of every hour. Our day began with a visit to Howth, a fishing village on the North side of Dublin; there we inaugurated a day completely dedicated to animals, starting from the seagulls that flied above us to the seals in the bay that are one of the most tourist attractions of the town.Then we had an hour of free time and so some of us went to a characteristic market while the others decided to taste the renowned fish and chips.
At lunch time we came back to Dublin with the train where our teacher, to test the efficiency of the Irish railway,had "deliberately" left her backpack on a seat, we can proudly say that it was immediately found and retrieved at the next stop.In the afternoon we paid a visit to the Dublin zoo where some endangered species find a shelter. The zoo is really huge and animals live in a reproduction of their natural habitats.We were particularly amused by the undulating gait of the penguins, astonished by the majesty of the tigers and by the placidness of the giraffes.
Con questo sabato abbiamo iniziato il nostro ultimo weekend da dublinesi e perciò abbiamo cercato di sfruttare tutte le ore a nostra disposizione.La nostra giornata é iniziata con una visita a Howth, un villaggio di pescatori a nord di Dublino;qui abbiamo inaugurato una giornata all'insegna degli animali, a partire dai numerosissimi gabbiani che ci hanno dato il benvenuto fino ad arrivare alle foche che vivono nel porto di Howth e che costituiscono una delle maggiori attrazioni turistiche del luogo. Più tardi alcuni di noi si sono recati ad un caratteristico mercatino locale mentre altri hanno preferito assaggiare il rinomato fish and chips.
A ora di pranzo siamo tornati a Dublino con il treno dove la professoressa ,per testare l'efficienza del servizio ferroviario irlandese, ha "volutamente" lasciato il suo zaino sul sedile,possiamo dire che hanno brillantemente superato il test, infatti ė stato trovato e restituito alla prof alla fermata successiva.Nel pomeriggio poi abbiamo fatto una visita allo zoo dove alcune specie a rischio d'estinzione trovano riparo. Lo zoo é veramente enorme e gli animali vivono in ambienti che riproducono i loro habitat naturali. Siamo rimasti particolarmente divertiti dall'andatura ondulante dei pinguini, stupiti dalla maestà delle tigri e dalla placidità delle giraffe.

DAY 15
This has been our last Sunday in Dublin. We decided to spend it at the astonishing Powerscourt Estate. The journey was a little tiring (one hour and a half by bus), but it was worth it!As we arrived, immediately we were dazzled by the majesty of the landscape and the precision of floral decorations. Following a map, we reached the Triton Lake, where we admired an impressive fountain.
Afterwards, we strolled along a path that brought us from the Japanese Garden to the Tower Valley.There we found the Pepperpot Tower that we obviously climbed.
Finally we finished our tour visiting the Italian Garden, which reminded us of the beauty of our country. At the end of the day we were satisfied to have chosen a breath-taking place full of green, the typical colour of Ireland.
Questa è stata la nostra ultima domenica a Dublino.
Abbiamo deciso di trascorrere la giornata nei stupefacenti giardini di Powerscourt. Anche se il viaggio è stato stancante (un’ora e mezza di autobus), possiamo dire che ne è valsa la pena! Appena arrivati, siamo stati immediatamente colpiti dalla maestosità del panorama così come dalla bellezza delle decorazioni floreali. Seguendo la mappa, abbiamo raggiunto il cosiddetto Triton Lake, dove abbiamo avuto la possibilità di ammirare una fontana a dir poco imponente. Successivamente abbiamo passeggiato lungo il sentiero, il quale ci ha condotto dal Giardino Giapponese fino alla “Tower Valley”. Giunti dinanzi alla famosa torre “Pepperpot”, abbiamo deciso di raggiungerne il punto più alto. La nostra visita si è conclusa con il Giardino Italiano, il quale ci ha ricordato la bellezza del nostro paese. A fine giornata, eravamo soddisfatti di aver scelto di visitare un posto mozzafiato, pieno di verde, tipico colore dell’Irlanda.Naomi e Maria Teresa
DAY 16
The last Monday of this memorable experience started with hopeful news: we finally changed the place where we have breakfast. Nevertheless, the food was unfortunately still the same. After this traumatic discovery, we took the bus to reach "Flavour of Italy", as usual. There, the most discussed topic of the morning was the Mediterranean diet. In pairs, indeed, we had to research as much information as possible about the topic and write a report. At midday we took the bus for another one-hour journey to get to the new canteen to enjoy an obviously "tasty" meal. In the afternoon, however, we participated in an appealing simulation we are going to realize tomorrow with Dubliners practically. At the end of the class we all returned to our accomodation to chill for a while until we went shopping through the crowded streets of Dublin in the evening, though the majority of the shops were already closed.
L'ultimo lunedì di questa memorabile esperienza è iniziato con una novità che ci ha portato speranza: finalmente il posto dove facevamo colazione era cambiato. Tuttavia il cibo era sfortunatamente ancora lo stesso. Dopo questa traumatica scoperta, abbiamo preso il bus per raggiungere "Flavour of Italy", come al solito. Qui l'argomento più discusso della giornata è stato la dieta mediterranea. In coppia abbiamo dovuto ricercare più informazioni possibili sull'argomento e scrivere un report. A mezzogiorno abbiamo preso il bus e, dopo un altro viaggio di un'ora, siamo arrivati alla nuova mensa dove abbiamo consumato, ovviamente, un gustosissimo pasto. Nel pomeriggio, comunque, abbiamo partecipato ad un'interessante simulazione che domani dovremo realizzare dal vivo per le strade di Dublino. Alla fine della lezione siamo tutti tornati ai nostri appartamenti per riposarci un po' fino a quando non siamo usciti a fare shopping per le affollate strade di Dublino, nonostante la maggior parte dei negozi fosse già chiusa.

DAY 17
Although the end of this unforgettable experience is rapidly coming closer, and hence melancholy is already growing inside our hearts, we are still interested in visiting the most relevant places in Dublin.As a matter of fact, the best thing we did on the last Tuesday was visiting the Castle of the city, which was full of attractive and artistic rooms. However, it was not just a free day as we got our first practical experience for Flavour of Italy. In point of fact, we were asked to do a survey on Irish food habits and, thus, we went to many supermarkets all around the city. To tell the truth, it was such a great experience since we had the chance of gaining confidence talking to native speakers.
At the end of the day, after a pleaseful evening in Dublin, we felt very satisfied and the bond with this spectacular city was even enforced. It will be really challenging leaving this all.
Il giorno del ritorno si avvicina e, con esso, la malinconia inizia a germogliare nei nostri cuori. Nonostante ciò, la voglia di visitare i punti di interesse di Dublino non si è placata minimamente. Infatti, durante l'ultimo martedì di questa straordinaria esperienza, abbiamo visitato il castello della città, che era pieno di ambienti spaziosi ed artisticamente interessanti. Comunque sia, non è stato unicamente un giorno libero, dato che, lo stesso giorno, abbiamo vissuto la prima esperienza pratica propostaci da Flavour of Italy: la realizzazione di un sondaggio sulle abitudini alimentari degli Irlandesi. Per fare ciò, abbiamo girato per i supermercati della città cogliendo l'opportunità di scioglierci e di acquisire sicurezza parlando con dei madrelingua. Alla fine della giornata, dopo una piacevole serata a Dublino, ci siamo sentiti molto soddisfatti e abbiamo percepito che il legame con questa città spettacolare si era ulteriormente rafforzato. In the morning we went to our workplace as usual. Having all been divided in groups we had to develop our idea of menu. We started to create a selection of starters, main courses and second courses according to the Italian traditional eating habits.
In the afternoon the company tutor showed us how to fill in letters of complaint and reminders. Next we sided the sales manager in the intercourse with some customers, learning how to apply the "golden rules" for a successful sale.
Finally we walked alongside the quays of the Liffey river in Dublin city centre in the evening where we could admire the Dublin Convention Centre - a towering building with an unusual shape.
In mattinata ci siamo recati sul posto di lavoro come al solito. Dopo essere stati tutti divisi in gruppi abbiamo dovuto sviluppare la nostra idea di menù. Abbiamo iniziato a creare una selezione di antipasti, primi e secondi piatti secondo le tradizionali abitudini alimentari italiane.Nel pomeriggio il tutor aziendale ci ha mostrato come compilare lettere di lamentele e solleciti. In seguito abbiamo affiancato i responsabili delle vendite nelle trattative con alcuni clienti.
In serata alla fine abbiamo passeggiato lungo le banchine del fiume Liffey al centro di Dublino. Quindi ci siamo imbattuti nel centro conferenze di Dublino: un edificio torreggiante costruito in un forma architettonica moderna e insolita.

DAY 19
Two days before leaving Dublin, some melancholy could be felt in the air. The harmony within this group made it difficult to think about leaving Dublin in
However our tasks had to be completed , so the day started with the usual ride to Flavour of Italy where our supervisor was waiting for us. The task of the day consisted in writing a complete menu based on the interviews collected the day before. After hours of work, the menus were completed and we headed back to the Gateway.
All'inizio del terzultimo giorno di permanenza a Dublino, già si avvertiva un'aria di malinconia e tristezza. L'armonia ormai formatasi rendeva difficile il solo pensiero di partire e tornare alle proprie vite.
Nonostante ciò, la giornata iniziava con il consueto viaggio verso Flavour of Italy, dove ad aspettarci vi era la nostra supervisor. Il compito del giorno consisteva nel scrivere un menù completo basato sulle interviste raccolte il giorno prima. Dopo ore di lavoro, la stesura era finalmente completa e la giornata si accingeva alla conclusione con il ritorno al gateway student village.

This was our last work day at “Flavour of Italy”. During the morning, we met the general manager, Maurizio, who is the co-founder of the company, together with Mr Marco. He congratulated for the three menus we had showed on the basis of the project we did the previous week. Later we said goodbye to all the members of the company for the last time and we took a picture with all the staff as a memory of this experience.
During the afternoon, we did a business tour of the Teelings Whiskey Distillery. There a guide talked about the history, the ingredients and the preparation of whiskey. At the end we caught our last bus in Dublin; it was extremely exciting to greet Dublin City Center for the last time.
Il nostro ultimo giorno lavorativo a Flavour of Italy è cominciato con la visita da parte dell’altro manager, Maurizio, collaboratore del signor Marco e co-fondatore dell’azienda. È rimasto piacevolmente colpito dai menu che abbiamo preparato sulla scorta delle presentazioni della settimana scorsa. La mattinata è terminata con una foto con tutto lo staff e con i saluti ai nostri tutor.
Nel pomeriggio, abbiamo visitato la Terlings Whiskey Distillery, dove la nostra guida ci ha fornito spiegazioni sulla storia, sugli ingredienti e sulla procedura di produzione del Whiskey. La giornata è terminata con l’ultimo saluto al centro di Dublino; prendendo l’ultimo autobus dublinese, una sensazione di serenità e di tristezza al tempo stesso ha colpito i nostri cuori e le nostre menti, consce di salutare una bellissima città che ci ha ospitato per 3 lunghe e meravigliose settimane.
